The Louvre - 1/3

Today we sent 6 hours trying to see everything in The Louvre! While we did not see everything (as we knew we wouldn't), we did beat the lines! If  you want to see The Louvre, go early! And here is the key - go to the alternate entrances! There is one on the side by the Lion statues, and there is one underground. Do NOT go to the one by the pyramid. Coletta and I stood in line for like 30 minutes and we were in!
We  first made a b-line for the Mona Lisa because we knew that would get crowded as the day wore on. It was cool, but very crowded. Next we set off to explore! We focused a lot on Greek and Egyptian statues and works because that was what both of us agreed we wanted to see.
We stopped for lunch which was sub-par and overpriced, but hey that's museum cafeteria food for you and headed back to the exhibits.

When we were done for the day at The Louvre we stopped by the Lock Bridge to find my lock and add me and Sky's initials - I hadnt had a pen on me the first time. Then we were off to a nice dinner in Place du Tertre. It was right near the Sacre Coeur which was beautiful at night! However, we had to climb probably a hundred steps. UGH. Which may be why we felt perfectly fine eating a MONSTROUS but seriously delicious dessert! Oh yeah and for dinner I had french onion soup and it was so good and authentic.
We perused some shops on our way back to the hotel to call it a night. Tomorrow we are going back to the Sacre Coeur for a proper tour AND we may do a bit of shopping... I'm not going to lie - I saw a really awesome candy booth that I plan on stopping by. Hey, I'm on vacation!
