A Rainy Day in Paris 1/1

I woke up nice and late today! YAY! I really do love sleeping. We had a nice breakfast and then went to the train station. The train ride went by super fast and before we knew it we were in Paris!

Our hotel was a bit of a let down - its fine and close to everything but it looked much nicer on the website. We discovered later that it turns out they hadn't cleaned our room yet. Now we have things like toilet paper and hand soap ha. We pretty much turned right around and hopped on the metro to go see the Notre Dam! It was beautiful! The line was really long but went fast, and it was free! There is also an awesome bookstore right down the street called The Shakespeare Bookstore. It was floor to ceiling books. Heaven. Unfortunately books are heavy so I passed. But I did grab a few souvenirs for friends  and family.

We stopped for dinner at a little place within walking distance and it was pretty good but not amazing. It was pretty cheap though, so it was fine. I'm excited to eat some good Crepes soon!

Next we were off to the Eiffel Tower! We had tickets to go all the way to the top. Unfortunately it was raining and super windy so they closed the top! SO SAD. We were quite bummed but decided to go up anyway. I was really glad that we had bought tickets ahead of time because the line was ridiculous. Even in the rain and cold there were hundreds of people. The rain also made pictures a little blurry but hopefully a few come out ok!

Tomorrow I think we are going to head to the Louvre in the morning and go from there. We have made a list of a few places that we want to hit, but we are enjoying not having a rigid schedule. We are going to go with the flow, but I do think we might end up in a shoe store soon... hehehe.

The internet in this hotel is very iffy but I will post when I can!
